Katie Konrad, ARNP has been a nurse practitioner for more than 20 years. She has worked mostly in family practice on Vashon. Katie believes that health care is best achieved by creating a safe space, deep listening, and careful physical examination of her patients. Together with her patients, Katie thoughtfully chooses treatments that resonate with her patient's goals.

Katie helps patients investigate and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune conditions, digestive issues, fibromyalgia, skin concerns, and mood disorders. She is interested in lifestyle practices that promote healing and resilience. She see patients of all ages and conditions.

Katie's background in health care includes women’s health, psychiatric medication management, and serving the under-served. After getting her BA in Anthropology at Stanford University, she worked in a women’s clinic in Seattle and fell in love with nursing and the role of the nurse practitioner. Katie went on to receive a Bachelors of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University, and began work at Harborview Medical Center. She then earned her Masters in Nursing at University of Washington and then began work as a Nurse Practitioner with Dr. Charles Weispfenning on Vashon in 1997.

Katie has been a health-care provider in many diverse venues besides Vashon; homeless in shelters in Tacoma, women's clinics and even provided primary care to families in the mountains of Nepal and the Dominican Republic. She loves being a nurse practitioner and is thrilled to join the wonderful providers at Vashon Natural Medicine.
